Als die Weltwirtschaft zusammenbrach, hatte man in London den besten Blick aufs Desaster. Eine Reise nach England zu den Schauplätzen der Krise – und zu den Theatern, die aus dem großen Niedergang Kunst machen.

Eyewitness: How China sabotaged climate talks →
A writer and environmental activist who was present at the final Copenhagen climate talks says China sabotaged the deal and ensured Barack Obama would shoulder the blame.
Stranded in London
I was only supposed to change planes in London. That was on Sunday. Now I won’t be home before Wednesday…
Headache
One of the guys yesterday claimed that sake doesn’t give you a hangover because it’s, I don’t know, more pure or higher in alcohol content or something. Not. True. :-)

Sensory overload
That was more excitement in a day than I usually get in two weeks. Okay, so maybe me life is usually a bit dull, but still… Mornig coffee at Dean & Deluca, a bit of electronics window-shopping in Akihabara, a tempura lunch in Asakusa followed by a visit to the Buddhist temple, a quick raid on Uniqlo in Ginza plus drooling over classic cameras at three used camera shops there, and ending...

The politeness in this country is overwhelming. No matter how hard I try, I still feel like a rude, uncultured hick.
I’m so jetlagged I don’t know which day of the week it is. My watch claims it’s 2pm but that can’t be true. Arrived in the hotel, took a shower and feel partially human again. May risk closing my eyes for half an hour…
The adventure begins
I am about to spend 12 hours in a plane. Urgh. Not looking forward to that. But the reward will come at the end of my incarceration in an aluminium tube — Tokyo. My first time there, my first time in Asia, in fact. There is a plan, of sorts, which includes a trip to a hot spring in the mointains (yay!) but what i look forward to perhaps the most is aimlessly wandering the streets. I count on...
